Xim logotype

I noticed the X is the key, changing the size of the "pencil" damages the perception of the X, no way.

finally this logo is so good, very nice, and good colours.

just I'm curious, I would like to know: why or how did you decide the X be larger (height) than the rest? altared.net/cc/imgs153.jpg
its just a doubt, because in my opinion both sizes (your final logo and the example I mean) are good, both sizes work good for a logotype about "XIM" title,
 then why or how decided the one logo with X larger? I'm sure and I know you made another proposals
